End of an era: Libertex and Valencia CF part ways after 2 years

8 July 2021

Saying goodbye is never easy, but all good things must eventually come to an end. After two unforgettable seasons together, which even saw the Valencianistas playing in the Champions League, Libertex and the LaLiga football club are parting ways. Much like Libertex, Spanish giants Valencia are well-established in their own field, having played in over 100 seasons in their long, illustrious history. Coupled with the partners’ shared values of perseverance and ambition, this meant that the partnership was a match made in heaven from the start. Now, as this two-year deal ends, Libertex would like to take a moment to wish our now former partners all the very best in the years ahead. With our time together now at an end, let’s take a moment to look back at some of our amazing achievements as partners over the past two years.

The premier event of our partnership with Valencia was, without doubt, the Winter Promo Tour, which took place both years. Each time, the Tour saw four groups of international Libertex clients selected to fly with all expenses paid to the capital of the Turia to watch Valencia take on two of the biggest clubs in LaLiga: Barcelona and Real Madrid. The package included full VIP treatment, with a catered presidential box from which to watch the match and an all-access tour of Mestalla. And if that wasn’t enough, the lucky Libertex winners were even allowed to meet with the players of both clubs, who took pictures with them and autographed club balls and jerseys for them.

There was also a fifth group visit to Spain when both Libertex’s LaLiga partners for 2019-2020 (Valencia and Getafe) faced off in what we dubbed the Libertex Derby, where we organised a fan zone with music, a table football tournament, a Valencia CF shirt giveaway and many other perks. The great thing about initiatives like these is that they allow us to meet our clients face to face while also helping to introduce new fans to our partner clubs, occasionally creating fans for life.

In addition to introducing our own clients to the football team, Libertex also sought to introduce ordinary Valencia fans to trading. One such engagement event was Valencia’s Welcome Academy for parents and kids, which truly had something for the whole family. As part of the event, parents were able to learn how to become successful traders while their children played a match on the same pitch as their heroes. On top of that, each event participant was entered into a draw to win free match tickets or signed club merchandise to make things even more interesting for everyone involved. Naturally, we’ve given away countless tickets, balls, jerseys and the like as part of joint promotions over our two years as partners, but this was a unique opportunity to come together to add the human touch that only an in-person draw can provide.

We also organised a Trading Masterclass with Libertex Senior Analyst Eduardo Strecht Ricou, which was supposed to be held in Mestalla. However, initial pandemic restrictions kicked at that exact moment, and we had to change it to an online version, where Eduardo could safely share his insights and raffle our traditional sponsorship presents.

Following the 2019-2020 season, jam-packed with fan interaction, the global pandemic definitely brought its own unique challenges in the season that followed. As the lockdown required almost half of the season to be played behind closed doors, the opportunities to include supporters were slashed. However, Libertex and Valencia managed to pull together to overcome adversity, organising a range of joint initiatives that successfully engaged both club supporters and Libetex clients.

It’s been an honour and pleasure to be able to leverage this partnership to provide our clients with the ideal balance of trading and football. Although our official collaboration with Valencia CF has now ended, we wish the team every success in seasons to come. In spite of this development, our involvement in football is far from over as we look to supplement our existing multi-year deal with European superclub Tottenham Hotspur. Follow the latest Libertex news and be the first to hear of any future partnerships!
