MetaTrader 4 Micro accounts: control your risks on metals
Starting 13 May, the principle of how leverage works for XAUUSD (gold) and XAGUSD (silver) will change.
Formerly, regardless of the leverage set for your Micro account, you traded metal with the leverage ratio 1:200. Now the platform has changed its settings and let you control your risks at full. You will be able to adjust the leverage for metals by adjusting the leverage of your account.
If you currently apply the 1:500 leverage, nothing will change, and the leverage for metals will remain at 1:200. In other cases, the leverage will lower proportionally:
- For 1:200 account leverage, the leverage for metals will become 1:80.
- For 1:100 account leverage, the leverage for metals will become 1:40.
- For 1:30 account leverage, the leverage for metals will become 1:12.
And accordingly for other leverage options.
If you decide to lower the leverage for metals, your trading will be exposed to risks much less, but you might need to invest more personal funds in order to open trades of decent volume.
