FXTM is taking on an exciting new series of events! After the success of the Long Swim in the UK in the summer of 2018, we’re kicking up our #FXTMgoesblue initiative a few gears – this time in South Africa.
It’s going to be a busy couple of months for our team in Cape Town. This vibrant city is playing host to an exciting series of activities, as we join forces with several local groups to celebrate the power of education and community.

- 18 May – The Big Wave Opening Dinner at Two Oceans Aquarium with keynote speakers Lewis Pugh and Andreas Thalassinos
- 19 May – The FXTM beach clean in collaboration with Big Bay Events
- 21-22 May – Ultimate Trading Formula workshop with Andreas Thalassinos
- 26 May – Sponsorship of the Lighthouse Swim in collaboration with Big Bay Events

Once-in-a-lifetime experiences
On 10 March we sponsored a children’s cycling charity – Velokhaya – at the Cape Town Cycle Tour and were cheering them on at the finish line. Velokhaya does truly inspirational work in the community, engaging kids in ‘Cycling with a purpose’ and steering them away from gangs and crime by teaching them the values of commitment, determination, dedication, teamwork and resilience. We’re honoured to partner with such an impressive organisation that so closely matches our own ethos.
We’re taking inspiration from FXTM Brand Ambassador, UN Patron of the Oceans and world-famous endurance swimmer Lewis Pugh and organising a swim of our own, in partnership with Big Bay Events.
But first! All traders are invited to join us at the Two Oceans Aquarium for The Big Wave Opening Dinner.* 18 May will be an unforgettable evening of deep sea dining in the awe-inspiring Predator Room and keynote speeches from FXTM Brand Ambassador Lewis Pugh and Head of Education Andreas Thalassinos. These two speakers are experts in their respective fields, and are on the same wavelength when it comes to the importance of education!
On 19 May, FXTM is organising a beach clean to support Lewis Pugh’s message of working towards plastic-free seas. Come join us and help do your bit for cleaner oceans!
Andreas Thalassinos’ always-popular educational series, the Ultimate Trading Formula, is making a special stop in Cape Town.* Registration is open now for the two-day workshop on 21 and 22 May.
Last but certainly not least is The Lighthouse Swim on 26 May in partnership with Big Bay Events. This 10.5k north swim to Big Bay from the Milnerton lighthouse is suited to more experienced swimmers, but you can get a relay team together to break up the swim into more manageable chunks.
